Thanksgiving Writing Prompts

$3.00

Thanksgiving story starters, from a gratitude list to a turkey with an escape plan, in a Younger and an Older version.

What’s inside

  • 5 prompts as 5 PDFs, each one in color and in black and white (10 pages in all)
  • The Turkey Who Ran Away (Younger and Older)
  • My Thankful List (Younger and Older)
  • If I Had a Pet Turkey (Younger)
  • Younger pages have a drawing box and short sentence starters with writing lines. Older pages give a story setup and room to write the whole story.

Skills it builds

  • Written expression
  • Sentence building
  • Handwriting stamina
  • Imagination

How to use

Pick a prompt and start with the picture: younger writers draw first, then finish the sentences. Older writers read the setup, plan their story, and write on the lines. Print the color page or the black-and-white version to save ink. Prep time: 1 minute.

You’ll need

A pencil and crayons for drawing.

From a pediatric OT

Made by Ms. Aviv, a licensed pediatric occupational therapist, and used with real kids before it reaches you. Print-ready PDF on US Letter (prints on A4 with “fit to page”).
