Summer Beach Same vs Different Dab & Color
Find the ones that match, and the one that doesn’t. Five levels of summer beach dab-and-color look-and-find, from spotting the odd one out to scanning a busy page.
What’s inside
- 16 pages: a cover, a how-to page for grown-ups, five levels in color plus 2 bonus pages and the same pages in black and white
- Level 1, One That’s Different: three pictures are the same, so dab and color the one that is not
- Level 2, Dab the Matches: dab the dot under every picture that matches the key
- Level 3, Same or Different?: look at each pair and dab “same” or “different”
- Level 4, Starfish Search: dab every starfish you find in the sand
- Level 5, The Tide Pool Trap: dab only the true nautilus shells
- Bonus, Spot the Difference: look top to bottom and dab the pairs that don’t match
- Bonus 2, Triple Check: look at all three and dab “same” only if all three match
Skills it builds
- Visual discrimination: spotting same and different at a glance
- Form constancy: a picture is still the same picture in a new place
- Visual scanning without losing the spot
- Focus and attention to detail
How to use
Print the color pages for the first round and the black-and-white pages to repeat. Level 1 is the easiest, and every level after it gets trickier. If a child rushes, slow them down with a quiet “point first, then dab.” Tracking with a finger before marking builds the left-to-right habit that reading leans on later. A bingo dabber is the favorite, but a cotton swab snapped in half (the short stub nudges a neat tripod grasp), a crayon, stickers or fingertip-paint dots work too. Prep time: 1 minute.
You’ll need
Dot markers, or a cotton swab, crayons, stickers or washable paint. A sheet protector is optional.
