Make an ocean in a bottle: water, oil, a drop of blue and the shells you collected at the beach.
Fill a clear bottle halfway with water and the rest with oil, add 1–3 drops of blue food coloring, drop in shells and tiny ocean toys, then have a grown-up glue the lid on. Shake gently and watch the waves. Keep the finished bottle in a calm-down corner for a slow, quiet reset. Prep time: 10 minutes.
A clear plastic bottle with a tight lid, water, baby or vegetable oil, blue food coloring, sea shells and a grown-up with hot glue or super glue.
Made by Ms. Aviv, a licensed pediatric occupational therapist, and used with real kids before it reaches you. Print-ready PDF on US Letter (prints on A4 with “fit to page”).
