Farm Sensory Bin Activity Pack

$4.00

One farm bin, five ways to play: find and match, color sort, count and scoop, put the pigs in the mud and sort the farm.

What’s inside

  • 9 pages: a cover, a how-to page for grown-ups, 5 play boards and 2 pages of cut-out cards
  • Find & Match: lay each animal card on its twin
  • Color Sort Corral: sort pom-poms into matching color pens
  • Count & Scoop: find a number card and scoop that many kernels into its ten-frame
  • Put the Pigs in the Mud: errorless one-to-one placing for the youngest players
  • Sort the Farm: farm animals or farm machines?
  • Cut-out cards: animals, objects and number cards 1–10

Skills it builds

  • Hand strength (digging, scooping, pinching)
  • Matching and sorting
  • Counting 1–10 and one-to-one correspondence
  • Animal names and sounds

How to use

Print, laminate and cut out the cards. Fill a bin with dried corn, oats or beans and bury the pieces from one activity at a time so the bin has a clear job. Little hands dig, scoop and pinch their way through the corn while they match, sort and count. Best for ages 2–6. Make the animal sounds as you play. Prep time: 10 minutes once.

You’ll need

A shallow bin or tray, a filler (dried beans, rice, oats, corn or shredded paper), and tongs or a scoop. A laminator or sheet protectors keep the boards wipe-clean. Pom-poms in six colors and corn kernels for counting.
