Dinosaurs Boxed Words

$3.00

Every word becomes a shape. Match the word to its boxes, then write it, and handwriting stops falling apart because letters finally have a place to live.

What’s inside

  • 23 pages: a cover, a how-to page for grown-ups, 20 themed word-shape pages and a complete answer key
  • The first four pages are the gentlest start, with six short words and bigger boxes. Then 16 full pages
  • Themes include Big Dinosaurs, Baby Dinos, Digging Bones, Long Ago, T. Rex, Triceratops and more
  • A “three zones” guide: tall letters climb into the upper box, small letters stay in the middle, fall letters drop into the lower box

Skills it builds

  • Letter sizing
  • Letter placement
  • Visual discrimination
  • Handwriting

How to use

Read the word list out loud together. Look at the first shape and count the boxes. Which boxes reach up? Which ones drop below? Find the word that matches, then write it one letter per box, filling each box from top to bottom. Use a page as a two-minute warm-up or an early-finisher activity. Prep time: 1 minute.

You’ll need

A pencil. The answer key is at the back for self-checking.

From a pediatric OT

Made by Ms. Aviv, a licensed pediatric occupational therapist, and used with real kids before it reaches you. Print-ready PDF on US Letter (prints on A4 with “fit to page”).
