Animal Lacing Cards

$2.50

Animal lacing cards to print, cut and punch: children thread a shoelace around the edge of each animal card to build hand strength and two-handed coordination.

What’s inside

  • A how-to page for grown-ups with skills and ways to lace
  • 15 animal lacing cards (a bear, lion, duck, panda, monkey, elephant and more)
  • Each card has a ring of dots to punch, so a shoelace or yarn has a path to follow

Skills it builds

  • Bilateral coordination
  • Pincer and tripod grasp
  • Motor planning
  • Hand-eye coordination

How to use

Print on cardstock (or print on paper and glue to cardboard), cut out each card and punch a hole at every dot with a hole puncher. Tape or knot one end of a shoelace and lace around the edge. Start by looping over the edge, then move on to in-and-out. Laminate to make the cards last. Prep time: 10 minutes, then they are reusable.

You’ll need

Cardstock, scissors, a hole puncher and a shoelace or yarn. A laminator is optional.
